Music Ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Director of Music, Andres Cardona
The Music Ministry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel plays a very important role in parish liturgies. Music is an integral part of prayer and aids in the spiritual life of the faithful. St. Augustine once said “Singing is praying twice”. Because music is such an essential aspect of prayer, the Music Ministry of Our Lady of Mount Carmel invites everyone to join  in worshipping God through music. There is a place for everyone in this ministry.

Cantor Ministry
The Cantor Ministry is open to men and women with strong voices and some prior experience with music. The Cantor leads the congregation in the singing of hymns, songs and psalms, in order to encourage full, and active participation of the laity in the liturgy.  Anybody interested in becoming a cantor can contact the Music Director.

Instrumentalists
Musicians are also invited to accompany with their instruments at any of our liturgies. Anybody interested can contact the Music Director.

Baptisms
We request parents attend a Baptism Instruction Session before the birth of their child. The Sacrament of Baptism is usually celebrated the third Sunday of each month, except during Lent (when we will not celebrate the sacrament until Easter).

Having attended the instruction, parents need to come into the Rectory to finalize the date of Baptism after their child is born.
Please note: There is a $25 processing fee.
